i dont know if i like the hazy processing on yer shot ian, i think for web it would look better bw with a tad bit more contrast
and both photos have important shadows that are croppped and that kinda bugs me, but not really.

Robbie’s photo is of a great moment, with an amazing appeal to it. however Ians makes you feel something more than just “that would be really fun” It has atmosphere and beautiful tones and textures, not that Robbies doesn’t, you just a more compelling feeling with Ians shot.

sorry to burst your bubble but look at an issue of slap. skateboarding has tons of “artistic” photos. which is a stupid term to replace well composed. i would vote for robbie’s photo simply because i prefer b/w to toned photos.

There are never artsy skate photos like these. you seee snowboarding photos like those always. although he captured the shadow perfectly.
