Not the u-tube pipe, but the long metals ones on which to slide their snowboards. So it seemed fitting to have two dudes riding pipes face off for this week’s Firing Squad. You decide which of these photos depicts dudes riding pipes the best.

Both mini shred but I’m going to have to go with photo 2, Too much going on in photo 1, the framing is a little distracting and he the riders camo makes him blend in with his friend standing behind him.

Neither shot is that great, but #2 wins because a) dude has much better style b) the end of the rail isn’t cut off c) there isn’t some doofus fucking up the background. Plus I like the monochromatic thing #2′s got going on.

Number 1 is annoying with the chains in the foreground. Trying to be too “artsy”, and it just distracts you from the rider.

Photo #1 is the best. Good contrast, good colors, subject and background are separated well.. all around better exposure. The chains in the foreground add a nice frame within a frame effect that directs your attention right to where the action is. Photo #2 is not a very good exposure. Looks like it was taken with an automatic camera with no manual settings. Everything blends together and you have to look harder for the subject. Photo #1 definitely wins.

I think there’s a difference between something being “over exposed” and having a sunburst off of it. If the board were “over exposed” so would the rest of the shot. The burst from the board is a glare of the sun and actually provided a really cool pop which made me choose the shot.
And on the same coin, I’m gonna step up for #2 even though it’s the competition and say that the shot is definitely not under exposed. Good use of off-camera flash and the composition is great. I like how the staircase seems to come out of nowhere

Well winning by three ain’t winning by much, and it would seem that everyone hates equally on both shots in the posts, so why so shocked? I think its either photos week this time, its not like either one has some standout quality that makes it that much better then the other. They’re both pretty basic

I don’t mind the framing too much in #1 (although it does seem a bit forced) but the rider standing in the BG ruins it for me. The lighting in #2 is nice but the framing is really boring… and what’s that crap in the foreground? I think it could have been better if it was shot closer with a wider lens to get rid of some of the foreground trash. Ok, I’ve rambled way too much. I guess I vote for 2… maybe?

I dont like either picture much. there are assholes in both pictures distracting me from the rider. Nobody seems to notice the guy in the white coat lying in the snow in pic 2.

#2 is less harsh on my eye sockets. I dont like crazy bullshit jumping outta the frame and bashing my skull in with a hammer of mediocrity. Number two has mellow tones that are pleasant and soothing… albiet the huge kicker onto the rail…. ….. but number two is the winner.

dude in number two: rail is too short with the kicker half way down the stairs but he has a the reflexes of a cougar, must have been on the rail before he could say droppin…overall im a fan of 1, i love shit in the way, much more of an interpretation of life by the button pusher
