Tracy Anderson Shit Canned for being a Bad Driver

YoBeat has an admittedly torrid past with the fine folks at ESPN (hired, fired, banned, rehired, etc), but we’re not afraid to admit, the ESPN “Action Sports” site these days is one of the best sources for original snowboarding content out there. The man behind much of the magic was Tracy Anderson, a Utah native who also had his hand in such journalistic masterpieces as Future Snowboarding.
You may notice the use of the verb was in that sentence. We just received word that Tracy will unfortunately no longer be running the snow show at ESPN. Funny story.
He was liked not just by the readers, but more importantly by his boss and the people in his department, and was actually in the process of getting a promotion. As you may know, ESPN is owned and operated by the much larger corporation, Disney, and any one who’s ever tried to get paid by Disney knows, the corporation is serious about its paper work.
In order to formalize his new contract, another review of his original application was done. Tracy had listed his education, including graduating from UC Berkeley in 2005. After all, he’d donned the robe and walked with his class. Apparently though, Berkeley never bothered to tell Tracy he was actually two units (or a half a class) short of an actual degree. So while he had no idea, Disney managed to spend some of Mickey’s money to find that out. While the corporate world saw this simple oversight as a travesty against the truth punishable by immediate termination, the people who worked with Tracy everyday were not about to let him go that easily.
After a few weeks of fighting and further investigation, it seemed Tracy may be able to remain a Disney employee, and then, the unthinkable! The investigators uncovered that he’s also failed to disclose a traffic misdemeanor on his original application. And that sort of recklessness was not to be tolerated, so Tracy is now looking for a new job.
We will miss Tracy’s daily wit on the ESPN site (ok, we only really checked it like once a week) and wish him well on his future ventures. Tracy, we know you’ll keep kicking ass, especially as evidenced as videos such as this:
