Pick a Pack

An '06 Da Kine Skate Pack For Everyone

You may think Da Kine just makes snowboard bags, surf bags, gloves, leashes, shirts, traction pads, tools, racks, locks, wax, probes, stickers, wallets and key chains, but you would be wrong. Da Kine also has a full blown skate team put together by the hottest team manager in all of the skate industry Scott Koerner. Scott scoured the globe to come up with an international team including ripping shreds such as Brandon Biebel, Chris Haslam, Jeron Wilson and Paul Machnau.

And for ‘06, the Da Kine skate pack series includes a special bag for the each of the aforementioned riders. Haslam, Wilson and Biebs each have their own color way in the Team pack, while Machnau has his own pack. All of the bags will get your shit (including your skateboard) from spot to spot, so peep the run down and figure out which one you need. And since Yobeat is so legit, we’re even giving a couple away. To be the proud owner of a brand new Haslam or Wilson Team Pack, all you have to do is email dakinecontest@yobeat.com. In the subject line write “I want a free Da Kine Backpack” and include your name, email and mailing address. We will choose two winners at random from all received entries on April 1, 2006.

The Haslam
MSRP: $80

The Haslam is one of four versions of the team pack. What makes it his is the colors, which were chosen by the man himself. This bag is relatively simple, but includes the basic necessities. Your skateboard is attached underneath the front pouch. Inside this pouch are dividers for holding pens, iPods or whatever else you need. Behind the skate holder are reinforced strips so that your grip tape doesn’t destroy the fabric. A small pocket on the front top is perfect for your sweet sunglasses and never fear, there is a special pocket to put your music playing device with a headphone opening and the main pocket is a reasonable size for whatever. The back opens up to reveal a laptop holder that’s cushioned a wonderful. Oh yeah and there is a mini side pocket for storing your weed.

The Wilson
MSRP: $80

Identical to the Haslam except, you guessed it, the colors. Jeron has Velcro straps on his shoes (and they say J-Dubs) so it is logical that his bag is somewhat blinging. The bag is royal blue with taupe accents and baby blue zippers. This one is the perfect gift for your girlfriend, and she can keep her make-up and perfume in the front pouch instead of a skate to

The Biebel
MSRP: $80

This is another color way of the team pack, so it is essentially the same pack as the previous two, but has a few minor differences. This one has a bigger side pocket that has dividers in it. You can still keep your weed in there, but maybe put some pens and a notebook to keep track of your drug deals too. Also the inside of the front pouch is more dope, with labels for where you are supposed to put your celly and your iPod. What else would you expect from the Bieb-man. The biggest selling point of this pack is the skate holding system. In addition to the clips on the front pouch, there is another Velcro strap to keep your skateboard super secure so it’s not falling down and bumping you in the knees as you walk.

The Machnau
MSRP: $65

The only pack in the line that is truly unique to one team rider. The other dudes just get to pick the colors, but Machnau got his own pack ‘cause he’s just that cool. This is the perfect bag to go out and skate around town with. It’s small and doesn’t have much extra crap hanging off of it. To attach your skateboard there are just two simple Velcro straps so you can keep that shit as tight as you want. The front is reinforced with rubber so you don’t get grip wear. The bag has two main pockets. The front is decent sized with labeled dividers for all your junk. The main pocket isn’t huge, but includes a sweet surprise: a lap top sleeve! Finally, two secret zippers up to reveal a music pocket and another weed pocket, with a nice, soft inside to keep your weed comfortable.
