Editor's Note

Ahh yes, another fine snowboard season is rapidly approaching.   Time to take the wax off your edges, dig out your forward lean socks and blow your life savings on a season pass.  As we sit and wait patiently for the snow to come, whether it be from guns or the sky, we can watch all the new videos, visualize the execution of a perfect backside rodeo, or learn how to be a hipster this season in the new issue of Yo Beat.

We here at Yo Beat know just how important it is to rock all the new gear, listen to the right music and know the right people, and accordingly have designated an entire issue to helping you in your quest for cool.  Snowboarding on it's own is just a fun sport, but with all it's trends, sponsors and rockstars etc., it becomes the most gnarly, groovy, radical and totally tubular activity one can partake in.

So cover your worldly possessions with stickers, play Cool Boarders 3, and scribble Volcom stones on your notebook.  Read magazines with rail slides on the cover, buy products from companies that were just bought out by ski giants and spit from the chairlift.  This list could go on for hours, while I describe everything that makes snowboarding cool, but part of being cool is being yourself, so you can continue on your own  while I curse weekend warriors and blue ice.  Good luck in your journey towards being the bomb and enjoy The Cool-Guy Issue.

I think I'm in love with Danny Kass. He's cool, he's from New Jersey and he can skateboard.   Maybe that's why he gets all the cover shots. Or maybe it's cause this is the best picture we've got. Photo: Tim Zimmerman

A word about our contributors:

Kevin Peckham- Have you ever wondered why Kevin has a better grasp of the English language than the rest of us?  Well, he's an English major at Middlebury College.  He also runs the radio station, hence he writes about music, and he's fun to skate with too.                                e mail the man

Seth Holton- Seth is a very bitter BMXer with a little extra time on his hands, so he grudgingly writes stories for us.  If you spell check his name it comes out as hotline.  He also has his own page which has some pictures of scantily clad women on it.  I bet if I put a link here it would make him happy, so I don't think I will.          send porn to Seth

Shanti Sosienski- Shanti used to be in charge of the SOL chat room, but since it's demise we're not sure what's she's doing.  All I know is that she knows a lot of people, and that makes her cool.               E Mail Shanti

Lee Crane-Lee is the brains behind the new SOL Logo, oh yeah and he's the editor of Twsnow.com.  I guess that means we can drop his name.                   Lee's E mail
