What is a Weekend Warrior?

Weekend Warriors are those who only ride Saturday and Sunday, who must take trips to go to the mountains, and who have actual obligations that prevent them from riding everyday. These are the people who keep society moving in the direction we like to see it go (forward, in case you weren't sure).  They work, they go to school, and they have to ride on the two worst days of the week.

While there's really nothing wrong with this, Weekend Warriors generally don't have the best reputation in the ski area community.  Afterall, for the "locals", who ride everyday, they pretty much ruin two perfectly good days a week.  They cause lift lines and traffic jams, scrape off the snow and force the jumps to be small and crappy, but they also pay for the lifts to run, so really, the "lokes" have no place to complain (unless you're me, then you can complain as much as you want).

I personally feel bad for Weekend Warriors, because they never get to experience mid week, which here on the east coast, is always a releif after the weekend rush.  They have to drive home at the same time as thousands of other people in SUV's, just to do it again next week.  Although locals may ride every day, these people are the true hard core.  So if you only ride on the days between Friday and Monday, this is my tribute to you.

A word about our contributors:

As you probably do not realize, putting out an issue of this instantly classic magazine take a lot of work.  Luckily, there are a million suckers out there, and some of them help us out every 37 days.

Josh Cambell is a CSC student with a camera and a dream.  He only told me he was going to contribute for about 10 issues before he actually did.

Pat "the eYe" Bridges gives us whatever no one else will publish.  I think we are very fortunate to have such a devoted writer on staff.

Marie Dussalt is from Canada.  She actually wanted to write for us, unlike everyone else who I force too.
