Space Odyssey

Bendini Production's premieres it's latest in Emerson, Mass.

By: Rudy Kaytron

Ben, the Producer of Odyssey, feels good after the movie successfully comes to an end.

Friday October the twelfth was a night the East Coast has been waiting to have for a long time now.     Ben Fee, an ex-blue lodge resident turned Emerson film student, had a vision.  Better yet, he acted on it.  Last
December Ben Fee dropped out of school, bought a camera, had some business cards printed up.  Starting Bendini Productions, the young visionary set out to document a winter's worth of funny moments, good snowboarding and good friendship.  Well, he did just that.  His movie The Odyssey premiered to a full house of East Coast snowboard fans this past Friday at a theater in Boston.

The night got going around 7:30, as two hundred or so anxious snow monkeys filled into the small Emerson theater.  With a brief introduction speech by Ben, the lights were dimmed and the movie started.   Right off the bat Odyssey made it's mark as a movie rich in talent, and even richer in humor.

Not to be left out Luke Mathison finds a friend

East coast Airwalk team rider, Luke Mathison had the opening part, which began with him kicking game, and eventually making out with a girl sitting in her car at a gas station at nine o'clock in the morning.  Homeboys got game.

As the movie progressed, the always colorful Scott Arnold kept the crowd constantly cheering.  During one  quiet moment, Scott yelled, "Come on people, is this a crowd or an oil painting?"  It might not sound that funny now, but at the time it was freaking hilarious... man that kid rules.

The movie showcased the talent of Nate Sheehan, Paul Miller, Eddie Wall, Brian Barb, Kevin Suseinka, Preston Strout, Travis Rice, Andy Benhardt, Liam Barrett, Charlie Morace, Mike Baker, Ben Bellows, Luke Mathison, Danny
Garrity, Tom Flocco, Mike Parziale and Scott Arnold, culminating in a ridiculous two song closing part from Shane Flood.  Oh yeah, even Coolio had a part.

A true sign of success and being a big movie producer, Ben gets a chick at the after party

After the movie, Luke and Preston kept the crowd happy by throwing out t-shirts and snowboards from everybody's new favorite company, Airwalk.  Once the obligatory product toss wrapped up, the crowd shuffled down the street to the Roxy.  With all due respect to Ben this was where the fun really
began.  The boys of winter showed the girls of Boston that the only thing they do better than snowboard is dance.  It was stupid fun.  Bumping, grinding, Travis Rice getting kicked out (three times), Scott Arnold getting beezy with two girls at once, the list goes on and on.  As the music wound down and the lights came back on, it was clear to everyone that young Ben had created something special.  This movie is a must see for anyone who has friends, and enjoys having fun with them.

Unfortunately the stern hand of big business has Bendini Productions by the balls, and distribution is becoming a nightmare.  The movie will be officially released, but not for a week or so.  Keep your hopes high. Pretty soon you'll have worn a hole in the magnetic tape of your copy of True Life, and just in time Odyssey will be there to refresh your eyes, ears and mind.  Email Ben at  bendiniproductions@hotmail.com for ordering information, and look for a Donkey Factory to be opening next fall in a city
near you.  What?

Preston Strout also reeps the rewards of stardom
